DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption commission (ACC) decided to investigate into the wealth statements of the ruling party candidates, participated in the 10th national polls.
The decision came after a regular meeting of the ACC Wednesday afternoon.
Public relations officer of the ACC Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said, “The commission has appointed seven investigation officers for enquiring the wealth statements of Awami League candidates.”
The candidates are former health minister AFM Ruhul Haque (Satkhira-3), former land minister Abdul Mannan (Dhaka-1) Abdur Rahman Badi (Cox’s Bazar-4), Mahbubur Rahman (Patuakhali-4), Engineer Enamul Haq (Rajshahi-4), Aslamul Haque (Dhaka-14) and Abdul Jabbar.
Earlier, several reports had been published in media about wealth statements of the AL candidates afterwards the Election Commission published their affidavits on its website.
