NEW YORK: One of the army officials who played pivotal role in Bangladesh’s controversial 1/11 incident Brigadier Fazlul Bari will return home.
Sources close to this retired army official in New York told banglanews.
Bari, who was sacked from his duty, is expected to come home to see his ailing mother. The sources further said that the army officer is also feeling exhausted in abroad.
All army officials who were involved in military takeover but Brigadier Bari retired from service after expiry of job period. Later, the political government summoned him to return home from Washington. As he could not come home due time, the government sacked him from his post.
On the other hand, the prime architect of the military-backed government and also former Chief of Army Staff, Major General Moeen U Ahmed, also wants to return home, the sources added.
According to the sources, the former army top official, who has been suffering from cancer, is now in better health condition.
General Moeen, however, expressed his eagerness to return home after regaining his poor health.
Moreover, to a question, sources said that Brigadier Bari may stay in Bangladesh if the situation permits.
