CHATTOGRAM: A total of 26 pythons eggs were hatched in incubator for the first time at Chattogram Zoo.
Around two months ago, a python of the zoo laid 35 eggs. Eggs were under their mother care. However, Deputy Curator Dr. Shahadat Hossain Shuvo brought the eggs to incubator as they were getting damaged due to excessive heat and rains.
Under moderate temperature, pythons began to hatch out from Wednesday (June 12), as many as 26 pythons have hatched out till Thursday noon (June 13).
Dr. Shuvo said: “This initiative will remain as a testament for python preservation. Probably, we have become successful for the first time in the country to hatch python eggs in an artificial way.”
“The snakes will be released into woods later,” Dr. Shuvo added.
