Jewellers have lowered the price of gold by Tk 1,073 to Tk 1,17,281 per bhori in the market in Bangladesh amid a tariff drop on ‘pure gold’.
The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting on Sunday.
The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk 10,055 per gram, while it is Tk 9,598 for 21-carat gold, said a press release signed by committee chairman Masudur Rahman.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 8,227 a gram, while that of traditional gold is at Tk 6,802 a gram. The new tariff will come into effect on Monday, the release added.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk 180 per gram, Tk 172 for 21-carat silver, Tk 147 for 18-carat silver, and Tk 110 for traditional silver.
