Bangladesh’s reserves hit $18.49B after weekly gain

Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves increased by $61 million in a week reaching $18.49 billion under the IMF’s BPM6 calculation method, according to Bangladesh Bank on Thursday (Nov 21).

The total reserves, including various funds, now stand at $24.27 billion.

Last week, the reserves dropped below $19 billion after clearing two months’ payments to the Asian Clearing Union (ACU) in mid-November.

On the other hand, foreign loans, grants, and a portion of remittances are deposited into Bangladesh Bank as reserves.
