KHULNA: Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Friday said that production at Newsprint and Hardboard factories could be resumed if any entrepreneur comes forward.

The minister came up with the observation while talking to journalists after visiting the now-closed Dada Match Factory and exchanging views with the employees of the factory in the noon.

Amir Hossain Amu said, “The factories are not being opened due to scarcity of raw materials. But in this case, the government will welcome if any foreign investor supplies raw materials and imports modern machineries to reopen the factories.”

We also will consider if the foreign investors want to wok with the government in partnerships,” he added.

He also informed the journalists that the government had been working to create enthusiasm among the foreign investors.

Saying that there are some complexities to reopen the Dada Match Factory, AL senior leader also said, “The government has been working to reopen the mill shortly.”
