DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has taken steps to prevent fake currency, ahead of Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja.

The government has decided to spread the information required to identify fake currencies by distributing CDs (Compact Disks) at different places, including airports, railway stations, launch and bus terminals.

Important public places, including cinema halls and offices across the country will also be in the publicity list, said a Press Information Department (PID) handout on Tuesday.

However, the dissemination of information will be carried through the district information offices, release added.
