EBL-SME Foundation inks deal

DHAKA: Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) has signed an agreement with SME Foundation Wednesday. 

Under this agreement EBL will receive Tk 50.00 million from the SME foundation as Pre-Finance for financing to footwear & leather goods manufacturing industries development with single digit interest (@9%).   

Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director & CEO of Eastern Bank Ltd and Dr Syed Md Ihsanul Karim, Managing Director of SME foundation have signed the agreement on behalf their respective organization. 

Md Khurshed Alam, Head of SME, Anwar Faruq Talukder, Head of Small Business, Ziaul Karim, Head of Communication, Md Rashidul Islam, Head of Medium Business of EBL and Shaheen Anwar, General Manager, Nazeem H Satter, DGM of SMEF and other senior officers of EBL and SME Foundation were present of this occasion. 

This loan will be disbursed under the banner of “EBL Udoy” which is designed for Footwear & leather goods manufacturing industries development. 

Under this product SME entrepreneur will get loan from BDT50,000.00 to 10,00,000.00 lac for the period of 6 months to 36 months.

The objective of this program is to ensure the access to credits to the eligible and potential micro and small entrepreneurs of Leather Tanning, Footwear Production & Leather Products Production; special focus on Bhairab Shoe Cluster & Brahmanbaria Shoe Cluster, Hazaribag Tannery Cluster and other promising leather products cluster around the country
