DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has taken decision to look into allegation against former chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) Anwar Hossain Khan for his alleged involvement in embezzling of Tk1800 crore.

ACC deputy director (public relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to banglanews on Thursday.

He said a two-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the allegation chaired by ACC assistant director Abu Bakar Siddique.

The ACC sources said Anwar Hossain embezzled Tk 1800 crore as the name of loan using the power when he was served as director in six banks.
