UNDP to provide TK24cr for project management

DHAKA: United Nations Development Project (UNDP) will provide TK 24crore to Bangladesh for increasing competency in project management.

UNDP and Bangladesh signed an agreement in this regard.

ERD additional secretary (UN) Asadul Islam and UNDP's Country Director Pauline Tamesis signed the deal on behalf of the respective sides at Economic Relations Department (ERD)’s UN conference room in the city on Sunday.

The aid is being given under the project of Knowledge for Development Management.

Under the project, modern management of information and knowledge of ERD and other ministries will be done with the joint initiative of the Bangladesh government and UNDP.

The project aims to work closely between ERD and UNDP on different issues. The project will be implemented in 2014-16 period as per the plan of ‘The United Nations Development Assistance Framework’.

ERD and UNDP officials including ERD Secretary Mezbah Uddin were present at the signing ceremony.
