Stocks witness fall Tuesday

DHAKA: The prices of the most of the shares of both Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed a negative trend from the early hours of trading on Tuesday.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down to 4,838.75 points at 2:30pm during the closing while it was 4,868.50 points at 10:30am.

Of the issues traded in the DSE, 94 gained, 186 declined and 35 remained unchanged.

However, LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth TK 112.71 million having changed hands, after the trading.

The other turnover leaders of the major bourse were BRACBANK, DESCO, BXPHARMA, GP, SQURPHARMA, SAPORTL, QSMDRYCELL, AGNISYSL and TUNGHAI.

On the other hand, the port city bourse also saw a negative trend round the day beyond rising several times.

CSE’s selective category index, CSCX, was in 1,090.45 points in the morning and 1,084.75 points in the afternoon.

Of the issues traded, 71 advanced, 132 declined and 38 remained unchanged.
