DHAKA: Entire economy of the country suffers a loss of Tk 1,600 crore due to one day’s hartal or blockade including Tk 15 crore in insurance sector.

The data, which was made public Monday afternoon, came from a report of Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA).

Regarding the matter, BIA president Sheikh Kabir Hossain, in a press conference held at the organization’s office in city, said that the estimate includes the country’s export-oriented readymade garments sector as wall as the losses suffered by the retailer shops.

Moreover, he urged the political parties to give up these kind of political movements.
