Stocks witness fall Sunday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses--Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, shed over 40.62 points only to stand at 4305.26 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 84841 with volume of transactions at Tk 2895.69 million.



Of the issues traded, 81 advanced, 190 declined and 28 remained unchanged.
   
UPGDCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 377.59 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were MJLBD, IFADAUTOS, ACI, SHASHADNIM, UNIQUEHRL, GP, SQURPHARMA, BANGA and BXPHARMA.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8018.56 by dropping over 72.28 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 60 gained, 145 declined and 21 remained unchanged.
