DSE, CSE up at opening

DHAKA: Share price indices at the country’s both bourses --- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)—witnessed gain in early hours of trading on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

DSEX, the Broad Index of the DSE, gained by 37.43 points or 0.87 per cent to 4329.06 after the first one and half hour of trade at 11:53am.

Trade deals stood at 43982 with volume of transactions at Tk 1808.63 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 186 advanced, 54 declined and 26 remained unchanged.

UPGDCL was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 287.26 million changing hands till then     WMSHIPYARD, MJLBD, ACI, SAIFPOWER and IFADAUTOS.

The port city bourse – Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) – also witnessed upward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index losing 62.24 points to 8091.11, also at 11:47am.

Of the issues traded till then, 106 gained, 42 declined and 19 remained unchanged.
