DSE, CSE down at opening

DHAKA: Share price indices at the country’s both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- slipped in early hours of trading on Monday, the second trading day of the week.

DSEX, the Broad Index of the DSE, went down by 7.14 points or 0.17 per cent to 4087.33 after the first one and half hour of trade at 11:58am.

Trade deals stood at 45056 with volume of transactions at Tk 1245.12 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 66 advanced, 158 declined and 42 remained unchanged.

BSRMLTD was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 332.93 million changing hands till then followed by UPGDCL, WMSHIPYARD, BRACBANK, ACI and KPCL.

The port city bourse – Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) – also witnessed downward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index losing 25.39 points to 7622.69, also at 11:52am.

Of the issues traded till then, 36 gained, 81 declined and 24 remained unchanged.
