Stocks end higher Monday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Monday, the second trading day of the week.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, rose over 24.00 points only to stand at 4118.48 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 106687 with volume of transactions at Tk 3234.09 million.



Of the issues traded, 137 advanced, 345 declined and 27 remained unchanged.

BSRMLTD topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 444.12 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were UPGDCL, MJLBD, ACI, KPCL, SPCL, WMSHIPYARD, SQURPHARMA, GP and BRACBANK.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 7693.54 by gaining over 45.45 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 93 gained, 99 declined and 24 remained unchanged.
