Stocks witness fall Wednesday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses --Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Wednesday.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, shed over 19.28 points only to stand at 4099.20 at the close on the third trading day of the week as share trading remained closed on Tuesday due to city polls.

Trade deals stood at 91391 with volume of transactions at Tk 3161.76 million.



Of the issues traded, 91 advanced, 181 declined and 34 remained unchanged.

UPGDCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 68 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were ACIFORMULA, ACI, WMSHIPYARD, BSRMLTD, SHASHADNIM, IFADAUTOS, MJLBD, KPCL and SPCL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 7681.77 by dropping over 11.76 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 62 gained, 130 declined and 26 remained unchanged.
