DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, rose over 1.10 points to stand at 4315.99 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 149699 with transaction at Tk 7106.08 million.
   
Of the issues traded, 106 advanced, 188 declined and 13 remained unchanged.

UPGDCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 538.41 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, RAKCERAMIC, KPCL, SAIFPOWER, ACIFORMULA, MJLBD, WMSHIPYARD, BDTHAI and BARKAPOWER.
 
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8154.30 by gaining over 21.20 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 75 gained, 140 declined and 16 remained unchanged.
