Stocks end lower Tuesday

DHAKA: Share price indices at the country’s both bourses –Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – fell down in closing hours of trading on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week.

DSEX, the Broad Index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 34.96 points only to stand at 4588.67 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 125274 with volume of transactions at Tk 6241.32million.

Of the issues traded, 52 advanced, 214 declined and 36 remained unchanged.

Summit Power Limited (SUMITPOWER) topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 553.08 million having changed hands.

Tuesday’s top gainers were SUMITPOWER, KPCL, SHASHADNIM, BEXIMCO, BSCCL, SAIFPOWER, GP, SAPORTL, FARCHEM, and BARKAPOWER.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8604.02 by gaining over 65.38 points.

Out of the issues traded, 42 gained, 157 declined and 32 remained unchanged.
