DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses-- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Thursday.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, rose over 4.58 points to stand at 4591.42 at the close on the last trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 113504 with transaction at Tk 4992.56 million. Of the issues traded, 141 advanced, 135 declined and 34  remained unchanged.

SUMITPOWER topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 429.02 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were KPCL, BEXIMCO, AFCAGRO, FARCHEM, GP, SHASHADNIM, UPGDCL, APOLOISPAT and LAFSURCEML.
 
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8620.82 by gaining over 17.89  points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 81 gained, 116 declined and 30 remained unchanged.
