DSE, CSE down in early hrs

DHAKA: Trading on the country’s two bourses--Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- is underway with downward trend of share-price indices on Monday.

DSEX, the Broad Index of DSE, went down by 14.42 points or 0.31 per cent to 4603.27 after the first one and half-an-hour of trade at 11:57am.

Trade deals stood at 42892 with volume of transactions at Tk 2202.92 million.

Of the issues traded, 57 advanced, 177 declined and 43 remained unchanged.

KPCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 370.56 million having changed hands.

Following the suit, the Chittagong Stock Exchange Selective Categories Index (CSCX) climbed down to 8585.87 by dropping over 48.07 points at about 11:53am.

Out of the issues traded, 34 gained, 114 declined and 22 remained unchanged.
