Stocks witness fall Thursday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.

DSEX, the Broad Index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 41.55 points only to stand at 4515.13 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 1,10,318 with volume of transactions at Tk 4506.70 million.

Of the issues traded, 86 advanced, 184 declined and 35 remained unchanged.

UNITEDAIR topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 68 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were GP, SQURPHARMA, BEXIMCO, KPCL, OLYMPIC, LAFSURCEML, SUMITPOWER, FAMILYTEX  and UPGDCL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8455.20 by dropping over 44.31 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 59 gained, 153 declined and 25 remained unchanged.
