DSE, CSE down at opening

DHAKA: Share price indices at the country’s both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- slipped in early hour of trading on Wednesday.

DSEX, the Broad Index of the DSE, went down by 5.00 points or 0.11 per cent to 4484.45 after the first one-hour of trade at 11:19am.

Trade deals stood at 23695 with volume of transactions at Tk 845.26 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 110 advanced, 104 declined and 52 remained unchanged.


BXPHARMA was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 121.94 million changing hands till then followed by LAFSURCEML, UPGDCL, SQURPHARMA, BEXIMCO and FAMILYTEX.

The port city bourse – Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) – also witnessed downward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index losing 3.91 points to 8416.57, also at 11:19am.

Of the issues traded till then, 64 gained, 60 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
