Tejgaon juice factory sealed, fined: 3 held

DHAKA: A mobile court raided ‘Qader Food Product’ in Tejgaon rail gate area in city and fined its owner Tk 150,000 for producing juice in an unhealthy environment.

The team sealed the factory as it had no BSTI approval, and damaged 75,000 packets of juice. They also detained three employees of the factory.

The detainees are Sohag, 18, hails from Shariatpur, Billal, 19, and Jiban, 17 of Comilla.

A case was filed against the factory owner in this connection.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-2 led by executive magistrate Helal Uddin conducted the drive around 2:00pm.

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) field officer Monir Hossin was also present at the spot.
