Stocks see early hrs’ fall

DHAKA: Share price indices at the country’s both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- slipped in early hours of trading on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
   
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 14.48 points or 0.29 per cent to 4849.96 after the first one and half hour of trade at 11:54am.

Trade deals stood at 53053 with volume of transactions at Tk 2321.95 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 121 advanced, 137 declined and 41 remained unchanged.

UPGDCL was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 273.42 million changing hands till then followed by ACI, BSCCL, CVOPRL, BENGALWTL and LAFSURCEML.

The port city bourse – Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) – also witnessed downward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index losing 23.37 points to 9056.59, also at 11:52am.

Of the issues traded till then, 77 gained, 86 declined and 30 remained unchanged.
