DSE down, CSE up on Monday

DHAKA: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed loss of share price indices while Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw gain on Monday (November 21), the second trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), lost over 0.58 points or 0.01 percent to stand at 4721.40 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 133,726 with transaction at over Tk 6108.79 million. Of the issues traded, 136 advanced, 138 declined and 37 remained unchanged.

British American Tobacco bangladesh Company Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 252.71 million having changed hands till the time.

Other toppers of the market were Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd., Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., AB Bank Limited, National Tubes Limited, Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd., Summit Alliance Port Limited, Summit Alliance Port Limited, Golden Harvest Agro Industries Ltd., MJL Bangladesh Limited and Mithun Knitting and Dyeing Ltd.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), however, witnessed inflation, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 1.83 points to stand at 8849.26 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 106 gained, 95 declined and 31 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 426.89 million.
