DHAKA: Grameenphone, the leading telecom service provider in the country, received top awards both in the Best Overall Brand and Best Telecom Brand category, for its acceptance among consumers.

The awards were handed over at the eighth edition of the Best Brand Awards, says a press release issued by the telecom company on Wednesday (November 23).

Solaiman Alam, Director, Marketing of Grameenphone, received the award from Faruque Hassan, Senior Vice President of BGMEA on behalf of Grameenphone at the ceremony, held at a local hotel, in the presence of representatives from the top brands of the country.

The awards were presented by the Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF), in association with world’s leading brand research company Kantar Millward Brown, Bangladesh.

Grameenphone is the first Telecom brand in Bangladesh to receive the Top award in the ‘Best Overall Brand’ category.

The award was given in 33 categories on the basis of a nationwide survey, with a sample size of 4800, conducted by Kantar Millward Brown, the release added.
