Bourses end in red Sunday

DHAKA: The benchmark indices of the country’s two bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed loss on Sunday (November 27), the first trading session of week.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, lost over 4.75 points and 0.09 percent to stand at 4786.57 at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 140,307 with transaction at Tk 6103.05 million.

Of the issues traded, 128 advanced, 152 declined and 40 remained unchanged.

The Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 248.86 million having changed hands on the day.

The other toppers are Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd., Quasem Drycells Ltd., AB Bank Limited, Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd., Fortune Shoes Limited, Confidence Cement Ltd., Golden Harvest Agro Industries Ltd., National Tubes Limited and CMC Kamal Textile Mills Ltd.

Chittagong stocks also followed the trend, as CSCX, the prime index, came down to 8957.44 by gaining over 4.84 points on the day.

Out of the issues traded, 101 gained, 151 declined and 29 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 407.40 million.
