Pan-Asian cuisine ‘Lotus E’tang’ opens in Dhaka

DHAKA: After establishing Khazana Restaurants for 20 years on as the premier, award winning, dining destination of Indian food in the city and Khazana Mithai- synonymous for Bengal Sweets for Bangladeshis, the brand has been unified under Khazana Hospitality Group.

After serving in the region for more than two decades and further on, in parity with the group’s effort in developing innovative restaurant concepts and premier dining destination, Lotus E’tang, was conceived and will open its doors this December located at the Bay Building in city’s Gulshan South Avenue.

This will feature wide range of Pan-Asian cuisine and thrill the food lovers, as well as connoisseurs, with its true to the region, of South East Asia, offering classics as well as Signature creations which will leave the diners spoilt for choice, and an experience unparalleled to any food offering in the city.

The restaurant concept features an Aqua Dining concept which is an innovative dining area constructed atop a glass paneled swimming pool, the dining area is complemented with the first in the city,  Live Mongolian Grill – a Do-it-yourself grill concept which allows the diners to choose their ingredients cooked live on the Mongolian Grill with their choice of sauce.

The dishes on the menu reflect the true flavors & freshness of different countries including Thailand, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mongolia etc.

Along with signifying ingredients like herbs or majestic seafood or even the variation of sauces used in authentic Pan-Asian cuisine, Lotus E’tang promises to deliver a twist to S.E.A (South East Asia) classics with a contemporary twist to food preparation and styling, which sets itself apart from other namesake Pan-Asian Cuisine available in Dhaka.
 
“Today marks an important milestone for our company’ said Avishek Sinha – Director of Operation of Lotus E’tang along with Khazana Bangladesh & Khazana Mithai.

He said this at a media conference which was also attended by Chef Peter Tseng – the consultant chef of Lotus E’tang who shared some of the signature Pan-Asian dishes like - Sriracha Chicken Wings, Lotus Claypot braised lamb chops, Singapore Chili Crab, Tom Yum Goong, Phad Thai, Indonesian Baa MeeGoreng & not to forget, the Burmese KhaoSoi, which showcased the core of the menu offered.

“I truly believe that marrying of fresh produce as per local availability and improvising the ingredients, through well thought of cooking techniques is the recipe for a successful dish. The dish should reflect the region that bears its inspiration from and guests should feel a connection with the dish but also feel delighted at the same time with the entire dining experience that complements it”.

The restaurant, with seating capacity of 150, will officially open its doors in a Grand Launch event scheduled to be held on December 11, 2016.

The operation timing of the restaurant is noon to 11:00pm every day.
