Seminars on trade, investment prospect in Bangladesh

DHAKA: The last of a series of seminars focusing “Trade & Investment opportunities in Bangladesh” was held at the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) in Ankara on Monday (December 5).

The series of Seminars, first of its kind, were organized by Bangladesh Embassy in Ankara with the support of Turkish Airlines, local Turkish Chambers, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI) and Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).

The previous Seminars were held in other major cities of Turkey namely, Istanbul, Izmir and Konya on November 30, December 1, and December 3, 2016 respectively.

The Seminars were highly successful in drawing attention of Turkish business community as a total of 145 Turkish Companies took part at the seminars, said a press release.

They attended two-hour long deliberations which included video documentaries and Power Point Presentations by the representative of FBCCI Ashraful Haq Chowdhury and BEZA representative Daud Miah.

In his opening remarks in the seminars, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Turkey M. Allama Siddiki, touching upon various aspects of Bangladesh such as geography, history, War of Liberation, culture, the visionary plan of the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the aspirations and strides of the people of Bangladesh conveyed that Bangladesh is poised to become a global economic powerhouse within the next decade.

He underlined that there was a new Bangladesh ready to offer the international community with a lot of opportunities in the economic field while serving as a model of social development and cultural cohesion for the developing world.

The presentations of FBCCI and BEZA representatives drew attention and imagination of the audience which resulted in lively question and answer sessions.

Bangladesh Consul General in Istanbul FM Borhan Uddin delivered the concluding remarks summing up the proceedings of the seminars.

Bangladesh Embassy in Ankara will continue similar promotional activity and image building efforts in all possible areas in the coming months.
