Bourses start week in red

DHAKA: The benchmark indices of the country’s two bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed loss on Sunday (December 11), the first trading session of week.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, lost over 31.69 points and 0.64 percent to stand at 4667.19 at the end of day’s exchange.

Trade deals stood at 173,521 with transaction at Tk 8236.39 million.

Of the issues traded, 81 advanced, 204 declined and 40 remained unchanged.

The Summt Alliance Port Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 229.29 million having changed hands on the day.

Chittagong stocks also followed the trend, as CSCX, the prime index, came down to 9092.90 by 58.75 points on the day.

Out of the issues traded, 69 gained, 153 declined and 33 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 474.14 million.
