Bourses end week in green

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Thursday (December 15), the last trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gain over 18.80 points or 0.38 percent to stand at 4925.72 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 187,109 with transaction at over Tk 10230.50 million. Of the issues traded, 118 advanced, 155 declined and 48 remained unchanged.

The lafarge surma cement ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 776.10 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 12.82 points to stand at 9163.73 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 85 gained, 134 declined and 33 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 945.73 million.
