DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Sunday (December 18), the first trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gain over 12.86 points or 0.26 percent to stand at 4938.58 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 174,258 with transaction at over Tk 9750.16 million. Of the issues traded, 146 advanced, 135 declined and 43 remained unchanged.

The Bangladesh Building Systems Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 431.21 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 45.39 points to stand at 9209.13 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 129 gained, 97 declined and 29 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 541.13 million.
