DHAKA: The benchmark indices of the country’s two bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain on Monday (December 19), the second trading day of the week.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, gained over 3.06 points and 0.06 percent to stand at 4941.65 at the end of trading.

Trade deals stood at 189,007 with transaction at Tk 11201.55 million.

Of the issues traded, 147 advanced, 135 declined and 43 remained unchanged.

Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 476.98 million having changed hands on the day.

Chittagong stocks also followed the trend, as CSCX, the prime index, gained 7.24 points to stand at 9216.37.

Out of the issues traded, 122 gained, 111 declined and 27 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 525.78 million.
