DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – are witnessing gain in share price indices in the opening hour on Tuesday (December 20), the third trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 24.97 points or 0.50 percent to stand at 4966.62 points at 11:31 am.

Trade deals stood at 53,043 with a transaction over Tk 3024.68 million. Of the issues traded, 176 advanced, 81 declined and 41 remained unchanged.

Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 163.46 million having changed hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, acquired over 45.24 points to stand at 9261.61 points till 11:30 am.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 100 gained, 44 declined and 23 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 283.47 million.
