Markets see deflation at opening

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – are witnessing loss in share price indices in the opening hours on Wednesday (December 28), the fourth trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 2.18 points or 0.04 percent to stand at 5014.55 points at 12:13 pm.

Trade deals stood at 68,467 with a transaction over Tk 3773.69 million. Of the issues traded, 158 advanced, 126 declined and 37 remained unchanged.

Central Pharmaceuticals Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 154.92 million having changed hands till then.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 28.76 points to stand at 9331.38 points till 12:09 pm.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 82 gained, 111 declined and 25 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 193.56 million till filing the report at 12:23 pm.
