DHAKA: The two bourses of the country – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain in share prices indices on Thursday (December 29), the last trading day of the year.

DSEX, the prime index of DSE, gained over 8.13 points or 0.16 percent to stand at 5036.05 points at the end of days trading.

Trade deals stood at 187,217 with transaction at over Tk 10705.87 million. Of the issues traded, 147 advanced, 155 declined while 24 remained unchanged.

IFAD Autos Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 262.80 million having changed hands.

The CSE also followed the trend as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 1.88 points to stand at 9369.91.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 117 advanced, 120 declined while 23 remained unchanged.

The total value of exchange was over Tk 741.94 million.
