DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Tuesday (January 3).

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained over 18.14 points or 0.35 percent to stand at 5137.73 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 225,207 with transaction over Tk 13910.95 million. Of the issues traded, 136 advanced, 164 declined and 27 remained unchanged.

The Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 840.49 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 35.81 points to stand at 9572.20 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 106 gained, 134 declined and 23 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 839.02 million.
