DHAKA: Investors witnessed rise in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange- on Wednesday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, rose over 56.48 points and 1.07 percent to stand at 5333.87 at the opening.

Trade deals stood at 258,158 with transaction at Tk 17045.58 million.
    
Of the issues traded, 194 advanced, 117 declined and 15 remained unchanged.

The Bangladesh Export Import Company Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 916.63 million having changed hands.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, CSCX, the prime index, climbing up to 9926.48 by dropping over 92.60 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 164 gained, 97 declined and 10 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 969.46 million.
