DHAKA: The benchmark indices of the country’s two bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain on Monday (January 16), the second trading day of the week.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, gained over 55.06 points and 1.01 percent to stand at 5477.86 at the end of trading.

Trade deals stood at 270,485 with transaction at Tk 18565.20 million.

Of the issues traded, 139 advanced, 170 declined and 19 remained unchanged.

Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 951.33 million having changed hands on the day.

Chittagong stocks also followed the trend, as CSCX, the prime index, gained 106.72 points to stand at 10208.26.

Out of the issues traded, 131 gained, 121 declined and 19 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 1,054.01 million.
