DHAKA: The benchmark indices of the country’s two bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain on Monday (January 23), the second trading day of the week.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, gained over 66.94 points and 1.19 percent to stand at 5669.79 at the end of trading.

Trade deals stood at 289,244 with transaction at Tk 21807.94 million.

Of the issues traded, 159 advanced, 142 declined and 27 remained unchanged.

Bangladesh Export Import Company Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 674.52 million having changed hands on the day.

Chittagong stocks also followed the trend, as CSCX, the prime index, gained 140.32 points to stand at 10646.41.

Out of the issues traded, 130 gained, 116 declined and 23 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 1,199.34 million.
