Markets end week in red

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Thursday (February 2), the fifth and final day of the trading week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 108.75 points or 1.98 percent to stand at 5365.13 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 144,443 with the transaction over Tk 7459.90 million. Of the issues traded, 44 advanced, 273 declined and 10 remained unchanged.

LankaBangla Finance Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 316.64 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 212.71 points to stand at 1063.65 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 32 gained, 204 declined and 6 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 452.75 million.
