DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Wednesday (February 8), the fourth day of the trading week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), acquired over 96.13 points or 1.78 percent to stand at 5488.23 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 161,680 with the transaction over Tk 8987.48 million. Of the issues traded, 281 advanced, 43 declined and 4 remained unchanged.

Central Pharmaceuticals Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 333.11 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 200.76 points to stand at 10291.60 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 219 gained, 26 declined and 6 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 510.45 million.
