Markets see loss Wednesday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Wednesday (March 1), the fourth day of the trading week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 15.48 points or 0.27 percent to stand at 5597.21 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 154,503 with the transaction over Tk 9619.73 million. Of the issues traded, 96 advanced, 177 declined and 55 remained unchanged.

Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 428.47 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 10.76 points to stand at 10525.49 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 80 gained, 145 declined and 29 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 541.72 million.
