Markets end week in green

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed gain in share price indices on Thursday (March 16), the final day of the trading week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), acquired over 16.96 points or 0.29 percent to stand at 5701.27 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 152,001 with the transaction over Tk 9640.65 million. Of the issues traded, 163 advanced, 109 declined and 55 remained unchanged.

IFIC Bank Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 376.73 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gained over 42.52 points to stand at 10729.41 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 139 gained, 77 declined and 33 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 555.01 million.
