Markets see loss Wednesday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Wednesday (March 29), the fourth day of the trading week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 4.17 points or 0.07 percent to stand at 5733.24 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 151,220 with the transaction over Tk 11348.84 million. Of the issues traded, 89 advanced, 198 declined and 40 remained unchanged.

City Bank Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 735.27 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 13.20 points to stand at 10774.64 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 78 gained, 165 declined and 17 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 834.59 million.
