Markets end week in red

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Thursday (March 30), the final day of the trading week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 13.63 points or 0.23 percent to stand at 5719.61 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 123,287 with the transaction over Tk 8174.83 million. Of the issues traded, 107 advanced, 179 declined and 39 remained unchanged.

LankaBangla Finance Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 441.29 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 20.78 points to stand at 10753.86 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 70 gained, 144 declined and 33 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 577.51 million.
