Markets see deflation Thursday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed loss in share price indices on Thursday (April 6), the final session of the trading week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 20.51 points or 0.35 percent to stand at 5736.40 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 143,809 with the transaction over Tk 10164.41 million. Of the issues traded, 86 advanced, 197 declined and 46 remained unchanged.

Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 621.69 million having changed hands on the day.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lose over 42.22 points to stand at 10787.18 points.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 67 gained, 154 declined and 28 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 600.09 million.
