Bourses see loss at opening on Wednesday

DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – are witnessing loss share price indices in the opening hours on Wednesday (April 12), the fourth session of the trading week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 43.00 points or 0.75 percent to stand at 5640.46 points at 13:08 pm.

Trade deals stood at 72,453 with the transaction over Tk 4368.07 million. Of the issues traded, 113 advanced, 162 declined and 43 remained unchanged.

Evince Textiles Ltd. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 222.36 million having changed till filing the report.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, lost over 70.61 points to stand at 10604.46 points at 12:58 pm.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 67 gained, 101 declined and 31 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 215.76 million.
