DHAKA: The national budget for the fiscal year 2017-2018 is going to be placed before the parliament on Thursday noon (June 1).  

The size of the budget is likely to be Tk 400266 crore. 

Finance Minister AMA Muhith is to place the budget, which will be the 11th as the finance minister, for the fiscal at 1:30pm. 

The FY18 budget will be passed on June 30, the last day of the outgoing financial year.

The budget this will also be presented on PowerPoint like previous year and will be made available on the website of the finance department at www.mof.gov.bd. The budget documents will also be available at www.bangladesh.gov.bd, www.nbr-bd.org, www.plancomm.gov.bd, www.imed.gov.bd, www.bdpressinform.org and www.pmo.gov.bd and at the banglanews site. 

Muhith, also ruling Awami League lawmaker, claimed that this is the last and highest budget in his tenure.

However, the finance minister is expected to hold a press conference over the various aspects of the budget.
